Independent Draft Gear supplies new and reconditioned draft gears that add stability and safety to locomotives and rail cars. Our 11,200-square-foot building in Farrell, Pa., is designed specifically for manufacturing and testing of draft gears and is equipped with two computer-controlled drop test hammers that validate the durability and reliability of our products. We classify all used draft gears, then disassemble, clean, inspect and gauge all of the components before rebuilding, testing and re-inspecting for outright sale, recondition and return or consignment programs.
