Column Side Bearing (CSB®)

Superb for many types of service levels, column side bearings provide significant strength beyond that of traditional side bearings. A cross linked molecular chain of thermoset material offers an extraordinary ability to retain strength and preload ratings long beyond other side bearings. The CSB uses the same cage as the SSB, making it easy to change the side bearing simply by replacing the element. Suitable for a wide variety of cars, the CSB is available in preloads of 3000, 4000, 5000, and 6000 pounds.

• Impossible to overheat – no contact between wear cap & elastomer.
• Shear technology – yielding greater stiffness and improved truck hunting control.
• Materials are stretched to eliminate permanent settling of the material. Elastomers are not compressed.
• Extremely high simulations have been endured by SSBs without reaching any critical performance decay.

• Force at 5-1/16” per side bearing (at 75o F after initial relaxation):
CSB-3000XT = 3,000 lb
CSB-4000XT= 4,200 lb
CSB-5000XT= 5,100 lb
CSB-6000XT= 6,000 lb

• Meets requirement of M-948 when installed on cars with a minimum car body weight of:
CSB-3000XT = 14,118 lb
CSB-4000XT = 19,764 lb
CSB-5000XT = 24,000 lb
CSB-6000XT = 28,235 lb

• Must be installed in accordance with Installation Instructions for Stucki CSB Resilient Side Bearings
