Continuous improvement is leading to major advancements at American Turbocharger Technologies, a Stucki subsidiary and provider of turbocharger remanufacturing and diesel repair services.

“We’ve made significant upgrades in a number of areas utilizing continuous improvement principles,” said RAFAEL CONSUEGRA, supply chain and procurement manager at ATT, which is based in Newport News, Va.

Rafael recently attended Stucki’s Continuous Improvement Practitioner training course at the company’s headquarters in Pittsburgh, Pa.

“We took steps to better organize our work spaces, which in turn helped eliminate unnecessary movement by team members throughout the workday,” said Rafael.

He said other principles such as setting goals, problem solving, incremental change and listening to employee feedback have led to major improvements.

“Some of the most notable results are increased efficiency, reduced costs and a safer work environment,” he continued.

A major goal of the CIP training is “to help employees gain the knowledge and hands-on experience needed to drive improvements across the company,” said MIKE WALL, continuous improvement coach at Stucki.

“That’s exactly what Rafael and the team have been able to do at American Turbocharger.”
