The Continuous Improvement Practitioner training for employees of A. Stucki Company is having a carryover effect with one of the company’s strategic partners.

SAMANTHA POPLOSKI, manager of strategic sourcing for logistics, recently conducted a CI event for representatives of DALKO Resources in Laredo, Tex.

DALKO warehouses materials transported to and from Stucki de Mexico, which is located in Monterrey and designs and manufactures brake and suspension systems for freight cars.

Sammi, who completed the CIP training in 2023, worked with the DALKO team to better organize and track inventory.

“We followed the PCDA formula to improve the process,” she said, referring to “Plan-Do-Check-Adjust,” a four-step model used to manage change that is taught in the CIP course.

“We used our training to put better procedures in place, which resulted in faster customer shipments, more accurate inventory and lower cost of distribution.”

MIKE WALL, continuous improvement coach at Stucki, said the improvements at DALKO are a shining example of the training’s effectiveness.

“When the people we train at Stucki turn around and teach continuous improvement principles to others, you know the message is getting through and the desired results are being achieved,” he said.

The CIP training, which began in 2021, is part of Stucki’s commitment to continuous improvement principles at all of its 23 locations in North and South America.
