We are seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Manager to lead our QA team in maintaining and enhancing product quality in our manufacturing operations. This role requires a proactive leader who will oversee quality processes, manage quality control measures, and champion continuous improvement initiatives across all departments. The ideal candidate has a strong background in quality assurance within a manufacturing environment and possesses exceptional analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
Duties/Responsibilities:
• Ensures implementation, oversight, and management of the Quality Assurance Program at the shop level.
• Provides final assurance that work performed at the shop meets all regulatory and customer specifications and requirements, and assures that the inspection function in the inbound, in-process, and outbound final phases are executed accurately, completely, and in a timely manner.
• Contributes to the overall performance of the shop from the standpoints of quality and cost.
• Supervises and coordinates activities of QA inspectors to ensure quality conformance prior to release of finished products to customers.
• Assures that the Quality Assurance Program and standards are adhered to and understood by all Employees.
• Provides immediate feedback to production personnel and plant management of deficiencies found at the time of inspection, and before final product release.
• Investigates and generates responses to internal and external audit findings and customer complaints.
• When necessary, performs spot inbound, in-process, and outbound inspection audits to ensure compliance with the Quality Assurance Program.
• Maintains records documenting the qualification of inspection personnel and assures that all inspectors are qualified for the inspection methods used per AAR, DOT, and American Industries requirements.
• Review and monitor qualification records to assure that inspectors are recertified when due.
• Authorize, calibrate, review, and monitor gages and gage records to ensure compliance and uphold calibration intervals.
• Review, monitor and catalog quality documents and records as required by the QA Program and M-1003
• Hold or attend departmental safety, quality, and production meetings.
• Ensures compliance with safety, environmental, and health policies, procedures, company policies, and work instructions.
• Participates in root-cause investigations, and corrective and preventative actions to prevent recurrence.
Skills/Experience Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field is preferred.
• 5+ years of quality assurance experience in a manufacturing environment, with 2+ years in a leadership role.
• In-depth knowledge of quality standards, including ISO, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and statistical process control (SPC).
• Proven experience in quality control methodologies, auditing, and root cause analysis.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
• Strong leadership, communication, and team-building abilities.
• Certification in Quality Assurance, such as CQE or Six Sigma, is a plus.
Open Schedule:
• 1st shift: Monday – Friday, 6am-2:30pm.
• Occasional travel to Jerseyville, IL location.
Pay: $85,000 – $95,000 per year
