Three wheel shop employees at Stucki’s railcar components location in Sharon, Pa., recently obtained their NDT Level II certifications in magnetic particle testing and ultrasonic testing.

MARTIN POGHEN, wheel shop leadman, and technicians ANTHONY HILL and MICHAEL PAYNE completed the requirements for the certification in May after completing training classes in 2024.

“These certifications will contribute to greater quality control and safety in Sharon,” said JAMIE ALBERT, regional quality assurance manager and regulatory compliance specialist.

The credentials demonstrate that individuals possess the knowledge, skills and experience to independently perform and interpret certified inspections.

The Sharon plant provides new and reconditioned railcar components and systems, including wheelsets, bolsters, side frames, couplers and yokes, truck assemblies and more.

Sharon, Pa., team members celebrated the industry certifications received by three of their own. From left: Jeff Poghen, quality assurance manager; Martin Poghen, wheel shop leadman; Dave Trombitas, plant manager; Anthony Hill; Michael Payne; and Chris Payne, wheel shop supervisor.
